Corbin and Sarah began their wedding day at the Surety Hotel in downtown Des Moines. This hotel is my favorite getting ready location in Des Moines due to its gorgeous historical setting and beautiful light. The groom and his men started with scootering around Des Moines, while the girls got ready in the Hippee Boardroom.
After all the finishing touches were done, Sarah and Corbin read letter they had written to one another before sharing the sweetest first look. After their first look, everyone hopped into the trolley and had almost made it to the photo location when the trolley died. The bridal party was such troopers and walked uphill to where we were taking photos. They had such great attitudes and were so great for photos!
Once bridal party and a few couple’s photos were done, we piled as many people into as many vehicles as we had, while everyone else ubered back to The River Center in time for family photos before the ceremony!
The ceremony was such a sweet one! Sarah’s dad walked her down the aisle, and Corbin had a hard time not tearing up. Sarah was glowing the whole time, and they were SO EXCITED to finally be married!
During cocktail hour, the newlyweds did something I’ve never seen before, but LOVE. They had some Hor D’oeuvres brought to a separate room where they sat and talked and ate before their reception. It was so sweet to see how Corbin helped Sarah into her chair and then they reminisced over how quickly the day had gone by.
Corbin and Sarah, you’re the kindest souls, and I’m so glad we became friends throughout your wedding day. Getting to photograph your wedding, as well as your farewell party, was such an honor and I’m so blessed to know you. I hope you enjoy these photos.
With love, Anna
