What to Give Your Photographer for Details Photos

Midwest Wedding Photography

When I arrive at a wedding day, the first thing I usually start by photographing is all the pretty details! These are the things you have chosen SPECIAL for your wedding day and capturing them forever with photographs is such an honor!

These are some of the most common things I photograph in details photos. Some couples add extra sentimental things, which is so special! You might not want everything on this list photographed, and that’s completely okay! Every bride is different and every bride’s details are different as well.

Tip: I recommend each of my brides having all of these in a special place – like a shoe box or a bag – so that you don’t have to go digging around for them when I arrive!

  • Invitation Suite, RSVP cards, Envelopes, Menu, Programs, Etc
  • All three rings + a ring box
  • Shoes
  • Lipstick
  • Your Clutch
  • Perfume
  • Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet
  • Loose florals boutennire and from the florist
  • The Grooms tie, shoes, cuff links, watch + other details
  • Letters or cards to one another
  • Any Special Reception Details (heirloom cake cutter, champagne glasses, etc)
  • Small Special Decorations from the Wedding Day
  • Guest Welcome Gifts
  • Party Favors

My biggest tip for details photos:

The best way to ensure your photographer has enough time to style and photograph your details is to photograph all these details before the wedding day! I love to partner alongside your planner to gather your details and photograph everything the day before, to ensure that I can truly focus on all the moments happening on a wedding day! It’s a win-win!

I hope this helps you as you starting thinking through what details you want photographed on YOUR wedding day!!
