What a full, wonderful, growing year.
It took me DAYS to get this blog post narrowed down! I went through THOUSANDS of images and still ended up with way too many for one blog post, so I had to go through again and narrow it down even more! This year, I decided to organize the photos in sections and lay it out in a way that mimics a wedding day! So I started with details photos and end with sunset and exit photos!
My favorite places to shoot weddings at this year were in Sonoma County in California, on Lake Superior near Duluth, Harpors Vineyard in Southern Iowa, Rollins Mansion in Des Moines and The Tea Room in downtown Des Moines. I worked with hundreds of amazing vendors who made each wedding day more magical.
Going back and looking through all these photos really gave me the feels. There were so many wonderful wedding days I got to photograph, and I think I cried at every single wedding this year. After getting to know each couple for a year or so, I feel like my friends are getting married and I LOVE that.
Without fail, my favorite photos are always the candids. The BIG hugs after walking down the aisle. The tears when you see a certain person. Mothers glowing as they watch their son and fathers tearing up when they see their little girl. Those photos are scattered throughout here, but in my opinion, they’re far more meaningful than an epic portrait.
I would love to hear from you about which photo (or photos!) are your favorite!
