What a PERFECT wedding day!! Shane and Sonya’s wedding was such a special one for me to photograph! Sonya found me through a lifelong friend of mine, and it just happened that we only lived 1 hour from each other!
Their day began with getting ready Faith Bible Church in Mapleton, Iowa. I walked through the doors, and all the girls were laughing and enjoying spending the day with Sonya. Soon, it was time for the first look.
Shane and Sonya’s first look was such a special one. They were both so excited to finally be getting married and the laughter – and happy tears – were both contagious. After some fun bridal party and family pictures, it was time to go back to the church for the ceremony.
Once the knot was officially tied, everyone headed to Sonya’s family farm to await the bridal party’s arrival by hayride. Everyone had so much fun playing cornhole, eating cotton candy, and the family dog could not have been happier with so many willing people to pet her.
The bridal party soon arrived, so festivities began! Everyone ate soup and breadsticks to their hearts content and then it was time for Shane and Sonya to cut the cake! The farm cat tried a bite of cake, so they had to be careful while cutting. Their first dance was to Andrew Petersen’s “Dancing in the Minefields” and then everyone proceeded to dance into the night.
Shane and Sonya, I’m so thankful to call you both my friends and I’m so honored that you trusted me with photographing your wedding day.
xoxo, Anna
