Maternity

Clayton + Megan :: Jester Park Granger Iowa Maternity Photos

I’m not exactly sure when friendship with Megs began.

She is one of those kindred spirit types who my heart latched onto and decided that we needed to be friends. We were quite close in college, and unfortunately, now that we live 3 hours away, we see each other less and less. I am quite thankful that she married a distant almost relative of mine *his sister married my cousin, that means we’re related, right?* so I do get to see her because of that.

Clayton is a pretty stand up guy himself. The night that he called her Dad I was over at Megan’s house. She told me that some guy was talking to her dad and she was nervous about it. My reply was, “Well, as long as its Clayton, I don’t mind. But if its not…”  She was surprised that I had figured her out.

It didn’t take much figuring out tho, because these two are just perfect for each other, as you’re about to see. They just had their sweet little Ivy Odessa and let me tell you, she is the sweetest ting alive! They are also some of the world’s best foster parents and their hearts for the orphaned are so beautiful.

Megan,  I cannot wait to see you continue to grow into your ‘Mom’ role. You’ve been a Mom for quite some time now, and I know that you’ll continue to handle it beautifully. I remember being sick once in college and you walked through my door with apple crisp in a mug, peppermint essential oils, and cough drops. You were created to do just this, sweet friend. I still have your mug, and I think of you every time I use it. I’ll give it back someday, but I’m not quite ready to part with it yet. Love you so much!
