When I think of Chris and Kaily, the first thing that comes to mind is Kaily’s laugh. She has the ability to light up an entire room with that laugh. Chris is a little bit quieter than Kaily, but he too loves to laugh. They’re both crazy talented (which you’ll hear about later) and they make such an incredible team!
The girls all got ready at the cutest hair studio in downtown Des Moines, just 5 minutes from Mainframe Studios! It was right next to a coffee shop, which is the perfect place for any hair salon. The girls were all so relaxed and welcoming! They were so supportive of Kaily the entire day – it was sweet to watch. After all the finishing touches were done, Kaily went to see her Daddy and somehow, they both made it out without tears!
Then it was time for Kaily to see Chris! Neither of them could contain their excitement about getting married and were all smiles all day long! The Bridal Party hopped on a bus with Chris & Kaily and drove around downtown Des Moines to grab some fun group pictures! We stopped at Shattered Silence where Chris proposed and where we took their engagement photos , then swung by the Music building at Drake University, where they met.
Soon, it was ceremony time and Kaily happy-cried her way down the aisle. Chris was grinning ear to ear, as you’ll see eventually. Remember how I said they are talented? They played “The Way You Look Tonight” on piano and guitar as their unity ceremony. It was a surprise to everyone and such a perfect way to show their unity.
It was such a great day and such an honor to photograph their love.
