Let me just say, it was a good thing my pal and second shooter, Hannah, realized that Montana was in a different time zone than Washington! We both woke up ready to go, and then realized that we needed to leave an hour before we had thought. Everything was ready to go though, so we hopped in the car, stopped to grab some coffee, and began our 3.5 hour drive to Missoula, Montana and Caleb & Maddie’s wedding!
There isn’t much that I love more than walking into the Bridal Suite and seeing faces I know. This wedding was chalk-full of faces I knew and loved so dearly! Maddie was getting her makeup done when we arrived and she was already glowing. She was surrounded by so many friends and it was so sweet watching them with her.
Once her dress was on, we headed over to the ranch house for the first look. Caleb & Maddie were both excited to FINALLY see one another. It was so sweet to see how comfortable they were together and watching them interact all day was such a joy! The day progressed with the bridal party portraits. I think we were all in AWE at how beautiful the Montana scenery was!
Right before the ceremony, the groomsmen asked Maddie if they could pull a prank on Caleb. Once she had head what it was, she was all for it! They put their plan into action and soon, everyone was enjoying the joke.
The ceremony began at 6, as planned. The groomsmen and bridesmaids begin walking down the aisle, but while the bridesmaids all held bouquets, the groomsmen all held pineapples, which are one of Maddie’s favorite things ever. Each groomsmen got to the end of the aisle, handed his pineapple to Caleb, and got in line. By the end, Caleb was juggling EIGHT pineapples, which he quickly threw behind a hay-bale before Maddie walked down the aisle!
The ceremony was so sweet and once it was finished, we quickly grabbed a few more portraits of Maddie and Caleb and their families. The reception was a fun one too, let me tell you! These two know how to plan a reception! Everyone ate pancakes, drank coffee, and talked to their hearts content! It was so fun to see a past couple of mine and to get to catch up on their life! Caleb & Maddie played “The Shoe Game,” cut the cake, and then headed to their car while all the guests sprinkled them with confetti!
If you couldn’t tell, their wedding was such a fun one to be a part of. I’m so excited to see exactly where God leads them over the next few years and I’m glad that I’ll be able to watch from afar as their friend.
