This is always a fun post to put together, and its by far the most popular post I put out every year – which makes me laugh. When I look it, I see sweat on my forehead, frizzy hair from the humidity, lots and lots of standing on my tip toes… and more. But you always like it, so I’ll keep showing you these photos from behind the scenes.
I thought I would do something a little different… yet hopefully fun, so here’s the stats for this year, in case you’ve ever wondered.
19 – weddings photographed
17 – engagement sessions
15k+ – photos delivered
40+ – boutonnieres pinned
8 – most water bottles drunk at one wedding
5 – states I’ve traveled to for photography this year
This year certainly was eventful, but I was so blessed to only have one wedding reschedule! At 19 weddings, this has been my busiest year so far, and for that I am so thankful! I traveled around Iowa, Nebraska, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Minnesota this year.
I can’t help but smile when I think about my couples. They really do make this job so worth it. All the hours photographing, editing, emailing – all of it is worth it to give them images from the biggest day of their lives.
This year really gave everyone a reality check and reminded us what is actually important – the people in our lives. I’ll never forget the emergency replanning phone calls, the tears and hugs on the wedding days because they pulled it off, and how everyone supported and encouraged my brides and grooms. Just saying, “Thank You” doesn’t seem to cover how thankful I am, but it’s also the only expression that seems to fit. So Thank you.
xoxo, Anna
My cute second shooter! He doesn’t come to every wedding, but I’m always thankful when he comes with me! Most of these photos are from him – good job Matthew!
Working through all the fun pandemic details with the vendors from all the venues. Covid weddings sure made this year exciting!!
When the bride wants to climb a ladder to the top of the tower, you make it happen!
And in case you’ve ever wondered, being a wedding photographer also means being a professional boutonniere pinner. 😀 I can’t even count how many of these I’ve pinned on in my life.
I will always be checking the focus of ring shots – you’ve gotta make sure that diamond is in focus!
“Hey Matthew, can you stand there so I can test the light?”
Shooting a wedding in Charleston, SC was definitely a highlight of the year.
My second shooters are the best!
Let’s play a game! How many things can I carry at once?
